official documents
I translate a number of official Russian-language documents, including:
- Birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates
- Driver’s licenses
- Passports
- Educational records (e.g., transcripts, diplomas, degree certificates)
- Other personal documents
I also translate business documents for companies and individuals, including:
- Real estate purchase and sale documents
- Bank statements
- Employment agreements
- Insurance documents
My fee includes an electronic copy* of your translation, and a certificate of accuracy with my ITI-qualified translator stamp on it. I accept payment in advance by PayPal or credit card. Turnaround time is generally 1-2 business days; same-day service will incur a rush surcharge. If you require your document to be sent to another institution (e.g., university or embassy), please provide the relevant details.
Contact me by email or +1-630-297-4437 for a quote and turnaround time for your document(s).
*Documents requiring a seal, notary stamp and physical delivery via registered mail will incur an additional charge of $75 separate from the translation fee.
A note on official and sworn translations
Under common law systems, such as those in the UK or USA, official or sworn translations do not exist, as there are no official state accrediting bodies for translators in these countries. Certified translations as described above generally meet the requirements for an official translation, although if your document is intended for use in a civil law country – for example, in much of the European Union – and you are requested to provide an official or sworn translation, you should check with an embassy official or other competent authority.
